Meet Taryn Goodwin, CPM, LM

 

Taryn Goodwin is a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM), Oklahoma Licensed Midwife (LM), APPA-C Placenta Arts Specialist, Certifed Lactation Counselor and co-owns the Oklahoma City Birth Center and founded Thrive Mama Collective in Oklahoma City's Plaza District. 

 

Taryn graduated Magna Cum Laude from The Midwives College of Utah and has current certification for CPR and certification as a Neonatal Resuscitation Provider co-sponsored by the American Heart Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Throughout the pregnancy and births of her children, Taryn developed an immense passion for pregnancy and birth. Taryn believes that every healthy family should have access to the midwifery model of care, should they desire. Taryn strives to keep the balance between holistic and modern midwifery saying: “Good midwifery care is a balance of knowing when to sit
on your hands and when to use them.”

Taryn is committed to having an inclusive midwifery practice supporting all families including BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color), LGBTQ+ family units, solo parents and more. Taryn recognizes the systemic injustice in our modern healthcare system and wishes to be an ally for change.

 

Since 2009, Taryn has supported many Oklahoma families through their births, including un-medicated births, medicated births, medically necessary cesarean sections and inductions, water-births, birth center births and home births .
